I grew up in Atascadero, approximately 1988-2003, and I've seen SO many changes! This town went from a small, quite community to now a bustling little town. It's usually a "drive-thru" kind of town, when people are on their way up to San Francisco or down to Santa Barbara, and people will stop here for gas or food.
It has one main road, El Camino Real, which has a large (very new) movie theater, restaurants, bars, shops and more. The town has a diverse spread of families, retired couples/singles and young professionals. It is a big agricultural area, mostly due to the large Paso Robles wine country.
