AtaHotel Villa Pamphili Rome Reviews
A very nice hotel, but a bit removed Oct 03, 2012
We were booked into the ATA Hotel Villa Pamphili for our last night in Italy. Arriving from Venice and ready to fly out the next day, it was a very nice hotel in which to organize for the return trip. The hotel is located in a very attractive setting, next to the expansive Villa Doria Pamphili park and gardens. However, it is a bit far from public transportation and from Rome's attractions.
That said, it is an excellent hotel and very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Our large room with two double beds included a flat-screen TV, minibar hair dryer, and clothes press. The feature I liked best was the balcony. It looked out on the neighboring mission church and the park. I'll note the abundance of in-room electrical outlets for charging ones various electronic devices, very up to date there.
There is an outdoor pool, but I did not see anyone using it. A business center with two Internet workstations and a printer is available. Request a logon and password from the front desk. It is largely a business and conference style hotel and there are several meeting rooms on two levels. (A conference of Italian police or security was also at the hotel. They were having a good time!)
A buffet breakfast with eggs, Italian bacon, juice, breads, and pastries was included with our room.
Recommended overall, but probably not a first choice as a base for seeing Rome, owing to the location.
