I am by no means an expert on Asuncion, but having recently traveled there, I figured I would sign in as the first reviewer. Asuncion is the capital city of Paraguay located in the southwestern corner of the country along the banks of Rio de Paraguay, which also borders Argentina to the northeast. It is a short 2-hour flight west of Sao Paolo, Brazil. Weather is pleasant during the winter with temps in the mid-60s on average but it can be very hot and humid during the summer. Asuncion is not a typical tourist destination as there is not much to see other than a handful of older architecture, however, it does have a thriving nightlife - as a matter of fact, residents of Asuncion take great pride in their nightlife and will find any excuse to throw a party. As such there is no shortage of good restaurants and bars.
