Astuti Gallery Homestay Yogyakarta Reviews
Amazing staff, amazing homestay!! May 09, 2014
This one of those places where I cannot sing my praises enough. We spent 2 nights here and it was absolutely brilliant. My only regret is not having more time here.
This is a small homestay with only a handful of rooms. The central area decor is filled with gorgeous artwork and Buddhist and other sculptures. There is a central courtyard with an outdoor but covered eating area and a swimming pool. A lounging /sitting area is at the entrance, and the homestay is gated at all times. There is a small gym, and also a spa available.
Our room features a queen bed and a single bed with rattan furniture in the room. The beds and pillows are comfortable. It is fan only. Lighting can be a bit on the dim side in the evening. The bathroom is large with a huge bathtub and shower. The decor us really cool with a stone/rock floor with stepping stones from the door to the tub. Plenty of towels are provided as is pool towels. There is lots of hot water, almost too hot and temperature is a bit finicky. Shampoo, soap, and other amenities are also provided.
Breakfast is included and you have a choice of Indonesian or western breakfast. I had the omelette one morning along with fresh watermelon juice and it was delicious. The day we had to leave, they provided us with breads , jam/ honey and coffee /tea at 5am even though breakfast is only served between 6:30-10am so we thought this was very kind and gracious of them.
The staff were amazing. Very kind and helpful and willing to go out of their way to make sure everything was to our satisfaction and we were happy. I have to say even the room tidying was better than anything I've seen before lol. I fell in love with the staff here.
During certain hours of the day, airport pickup is free, but we were outside those times so we paid 37,500 each for an airport pickup and drop off. It was in a roomy air conditioned comfortable SUV so we also hired the vehicle for 12 hrs the next day split into 2 halves, sunrise at Borobudur and then evening and sunset at prambanan and the ballet which they were also kind enough to let us split the time up as such. Cost for 12 hrs was 750,000 idr. They do offer some other tours or hours to hire a vehicle and driver.
I most highly recommend this guesthouse!!!
