A bed but nothing more Mar 14, 2010
I would not recommend this hostel. Even though it is cheap. The beds are actually not that bad and the rooms are ok. However, everything else is either very old or dirty. Especially the toilets. Most of them have broken locks and the toilets are very dirty. Below the water line they are black and the flush does not work on most of them. The showers are ok, but not great either. Even for a hostel, this is a bit bad. If you don't care about the toilets, the hostel does provide a place to sleep at a reasonable price. Also, the location is good as it is very close to Hyde Park and close to a Tube station.

We were really spoiled by our last hostel so this may be a bit biased.

First impression was that the lobby smelled like B.O. It was easy enough to find and the prices are reasonable. They provide a lock box service for valuables. The bathrooms are hall bathrooms and the rooms have a sink provided. We couldn't open the door to the balcony and the room was a bit warm at night. It was lacking a little in cleanliness.

Not sure if I would stay here again, I would probably look around at other places before booking here again.

Yeah, we hit Astor Hyde Park about a month after you and came away with the same opinion.

Cheers,
