Turkish Restaurant Apr 28, 2013
You like Turkish food? You like grilled meats? I do.

I avoid coming here too often, because I love the food so much I end up eating a lot, so make sure you're really hungry when you come.

Parking is an issue that you have to solve yourself. Weekends - particularly evenings you will have to park somewhere nearby and walk or take a cab to the restaurant.

Once you're in, the restaurant may look congested, but wait - there is another SPACIOUS floor above for families.

For men (non-family gathering) there is another separate section. This is a family place and there is a lift/elevator to reach the upper floor in case you have parents who cannot climb stairs.

If your waiter doesn't arrive, look for a bell by your table and press. There are grilled meats, salads, soups, and meats cooked in clay pans. Then there is the Doner kebap, which is a sort of equivalent of shawarma (although different in texture). I always order a doner, a plate of mixed grilled meats, and hummus with bread. To drink I always get the pomegranate juice.

A note about the hummus and bread that comes before your meal... the bread is flat with bubbles and sesame seeds - and it is AWESOME with hummus. To be sensible, it's a meal in itself. I usually go to the gym and successfully fight the battle against my bulge, but come on, sometimes you have to take a break from the usual sensibility and indulge.

For dinners you only get grilled meats and some clay pans.

The mixed grill contains kofta kebab (chicken as well as lamb), grilled chicken, and grilled lamb on skewers.

For lunches apart from the grilled meats you get daily dishes that may include okra, green beans - ask your waiter.

What else? Food arrives, you eat, enjoy, wash it down with pomegranate juice or some soda drink.

The ambiance is slightly tight, covered. The interior is quite ottoman. On the higher levels you see stuffed animals in an enclosed display area - quite funny - will share pics once I find them.

Definitely worth it
