See the Small Town of Asland May 11, 2017
Ashland is a growing town of about 800 (up 78% since 2000) located along U. S. Highway 212 in Rosebud County in Southeast Montana just east of the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation and near the border with Wyoming. The population is 75% Northern Cheyenne, 57% female and the average age is 31. Ashland was established around 1886 and was named for the abundance of Ash trees in the area. Ashland had a small historic area with a few buildings of historic and/or architectural interest. One of the more interesting ones (other than the mission) is the Club Buffet Bar and Casino (photo 3) which is for sale. Nice place to stop and look around.
