Asheville Vacation Guide
Asheville is a beautiful city situated in western North Carolina among the Blue Ridge Mountains. Because of its mountain location, it typically has mild winters and cooler summers, but does receive a good share of rain throughout the year.
The town itself is filled with culture. There are a variety of art galleries downtown (all within walking distance of each other) where the public can browse and/or purchase local creations from fine art to innovatively constructed notebooks. As you walk from gallery to gallery, you will pass amazing specialty shops and eateries each with their own style and feel. Lets not forget to mention the great coffee shops and music venues for locals as well as national artists; something for everyone.
The culture of Asheville is also enriched by contributing schools in the area such as the University of North Carolina at Asheville and South College. However, one of Asheville's most famous attractions is the Biltmore Estate. This privately owned home was built by George Vanderbilt II in the late 1800's. Now open to the public for tours, you can visit this grandeur abode and its 8,000 surrounding acres.

We started at the Folk …

Rain or no rain? Do I go or do I stay? I will wait another hour to see if it clears , screw it “On the Road Again”. Ten minutes later I am under the overhang of a Lowes home improvement center buying another TARP. 15 minutes 10 bungees later , rain suit on & he…

Asheville is about an hour and a half drive from Murphy (depedning on traffic) through some more of beautiful North Carolina. Asheville is in my opinion a city but most would still call it a town. It has close to 70,000 people which makes it a city in my opinion. Asheville is rather a strange…
