Ebeotsu is this small town 40 minutes away from Asahikawa by train. Since we woke up early we decided to explore it a little bit before going to the other festival in Asahikawa. Not much to say about it except that it is peaceful and cold. We did see some really nice landscapes from the train. The snow festival in Asahikawa was amazing. The whole town was full of snow and ice sculptures, a really festive environment  and besides our little group I only saw a coup...

In August 2005 I spent four weeks in Japan. Two weeks I stayed around Nagoya for a sportscompetition (orienteering) and the other two weeks I traveled through Japan by train.
