Arya Niwas Hotel is a decent choice in Jaipur. In Dec 2015, we paid INR 2500/- per night which amounted to US$38.00. We could have found hotels for less, but this one was highly recommended by a relative we trusted.

Excellent location close to the rail-station and not far from the main attractions. Even though the area itself is crowded, the hotel manages to creaet an atmosphere of calmness with interior courtyards and a decent lawn-garden in front of the hotel, where you can enjoy a nice meal or something to drink from the restaurant. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the hotel. The staff is very courteous and helpful.

The room was reasonably large and a comfortable bathroom with plenty of hot water.

The restaurant is very good and cheap. A sumptous hot buffet breakfast with Indian and continental food was included. You g0t to choose from among many Indian dishes, fruits, toast, egg, juices, tea, coffee, milk, porridge, etc. My favorite for lunch or dinner was vegetarian thali even though there was an extensive menu. For lunch or dinner, I normally paid around INR 350/- (US $5.00)

I was definetely satisfied. The staff seemed to operate on the same wavelength of courtesy and respect for the guest. It is perhaps Rajasthani culture, at the least, I found it in this one hotel. Some backpackers might balk at the price, but for us it was worthwhile.

Best to go with a trusted recommendation. Good hotels can be found in busy areas near train/metro/bus stations in India, and some do a good job providing a safe & comfortable atmosphere for guests. Sounds like you found one!

Hotel with a traditional Rajasthan feel Apr 29, 2015
I enjoyed the Indian hospitality and ambiance at Arya Niwas hotel. The lobby has a true Rajasthan feel, the food served in the canteen are varied and very affordable.

Room: I was a little surprised to notice that all room doors had a bar lock outside-- I enquired as to why that is so and was told that guests can either use the lock provided by the hotel or use their own lock. The bathroom had both a shower head as well as bucket and pail (to take a bath in the traditional way). The amenities didn't include a hairdryer but I was promptly given one upon request.

Wifi reception was good in our room. Ailianna and I enjoyed shopping at the on-site gift shop - there were jewellery, bags, clothes and other souvenirs at reasonable prices. I also tried an on-site Aryuvedric massage - felt a little ticklish.

Very nice hotel Jan 23, 2011
Arya Niwas Hotel was one of the better hotels in India. The room was quite small, and the bathroom as well, but it was reasonably clean, and there was no problem about hot water. Among the hotel's better assets is the nice garden area in front of the hotel, where you can enjoy a nice meal or something to drink from the restaurant.

The restaurant is not bad - you choose between small dishes of typical Indian food (lots of vegetarian dishes). It is quite cheap as well - if I had lunch or dinner here, I normally paid around 100-200 rupees.

There is access to wifi at the hotel, but you have to pay for it. Still it's very flexible and not too expensive. You only pay for the time you are logged on to the hotel's server.

Loved this Hotel. Nice clean, rather inexpensive rooms. Good Location. There is a little store, and a cafeteria. Also, it is quite nice to sip on some chai in the courtyard garden. Also, a chill roof top terrace to chill out on
