Place to chill out Nov 12, 2009
Here goes my first contribution. I thought the place looked very funky, super friendly staff, nice common area and pool. Big and clean bathrooms. The bar and a food joint will keep you fed and drunk:)) Regular shuttle bus runs to the town centre and back every half hour all night after 7pm I think.. I felt like I was back in time in good old hippy days, everyone was quite stoned which is what you should expect from Byron;))
Minuses: a fair walk to the town centre and the beach, not very busy and everyone keep to themselves..maybe due to being stoned I don't know:)) Good to stay with friends, not so good on your own.. |

Arts factory - not just for arty types Aug 10, 2005
The best hostel I've ever stayed in and not for the facilties but the atmosphere, in the 4 nights we stayed there we didn't once have to think about what to do next, it was always right in front of us.
Plus this is were I first picked up Poi so it's especially memorable for me. The visit to Nimbin was novel, if a little tacky and very tourist, though quite handy (!). But the 4am climb up the cliff to watch the sunrise was one of my best moments in Oz. Part of the My time in Australia 2005 travel blog |

The Arts Factory is a comfortable, friendly retreat offering groovy accommodation. Rooms range from standard six person shared dorms with views of the pool and courtyar...(see more)
