Huge art exhibit Jul 04, 2009
Sensory overload is all I can think of when I try to describe Artomatic. For those of you who haven't been, it's an annual art festival held for the entire month of June (and a few days in July) in our nation's capital. Artists display their works throughout nine floors of space. People always say that events have something for everyone, and this is an even that truly does, "visual and installation art, theater performances, dance and comedy, three music stages, street performances such as fire dancing and drum troupes, and a film screening theater. Workshops and seminars are held all month long and special events such as the Washington Post's Peeps diorama finalists, the Zombie Prom, Box Racing, body paint shows, and a no-holds-barred Art in Fashion Show." whether you want to browse around at art, sit down and watch a movie, watch a bunch of stand up commedians, or even paint a mural too. There are so many activities going on, you can keep coming back multiple times during the month. This event is highly recommended. Although it's free, they do accept donations, and for what you get I would recommend giving at least five or ten dollars.
