Artists Inn Residence Reviews
Boutique Bed and Breakfast like no other Jul 03, 2008
If you want to hide from the world and indulge in a bit of luxury, this is the place! For WDC standards, the price you pay here, in a chain hotel will be a tiny, "standard" room. However, the Artist Inn Residence is a different story. Its 2 Victorian houses that have been joined. It has 9 rooms and all designed to fit a specific artist. Interior design in the whole building is superb. (Check the website)
In the room, the bed was very comfortable, crisp clean linen, with complementary robe and slippers, tv/dvd system with a collection of DVDs in the hall, unlimited bottled water, and CHOCOLATES! The bathrooms too are like no other!! Jet baths, heated toiled seats and floor, electronically controlled pressure and temperature Bidet for "front" and "back" wash (this was really interesting). All toiletries are certified organic. We stayed in the cheapest room (Shakespeare)yet it really felt luxurious. In the morning, the inn keeper, who is very very friendly, will be waiting for you at the kitchen, ready to make you omelets to your liking. Open buffet of all organic food. It was really good! Location wise, its about 10 mins away from the actual circle which is surrounded with shops, cafes, resturants, fast food, even a CVS. The Dupont Circle metro stop is bout 7 mins. Its close enough to everything but in a quiet street. Conclusion: Highly recommended. |
