Artisan Center Reviews

If you are every in Kentucky running on Interstate 75 you should stop at the Kentucky Artisan Center in Berea, Kentucky. This is a really neat craft center. Local artists display and sell their crafts and artwork here. You can find everything from paintings and photographs to glass blown jewelry to carvings to music albums to books. The books there are all about the history of the state written by those who experienced it. Others tell about random Kentucky facts such as The Kentucky Derby and Daniel Boone (if you know about these two). The crafts, because they are handmade from local artists, run a little pricey. Smaller things like handmade Christmas ornaments are cheaper and very beautiful. It is free to browse though :)

There is a great little cafe there as well. They have everything from salads and sandwiches to hot items. Stop by for a nice lunch. It is pretty cheap too.

This is a great way to get a little flavor for handmade Appalachian crafts. If you venture on into the town, you will see just how great this little town is.
