Location:

Hotel Arthur is only a walking distance from the Helsinki Central Train Station (850 meters to/from.) Five-minute walk if not carrying any heavy luggage. If it is raining and you have heavy travel bags in tow, I must say, it is going to take you twenty -minute or more walking. Also, the path leading to the hotel is an uphill and downhill cobbled stone street.

The hotel is also close to many business establishments like banks, ATM, restaurants & fast foods, grocery shops, bus/metro stops, malls, some museums and (for those who want to get a little diversion,) a casino.

I would say that Hotel Arthur is in a quiet neighboring despite its proximity to the hustle and bustle of the city.

Amenities:

Our room was well equipped with the essentials (toiletries, towels, hot water, etc.)

Our room was immaculate clean. The bed was comfortable.

There is a fridge, a good size vanity mirror, wardrobe closet, shelves, drawers, a mini-fan, a flat-screen T.V. set, and more than two electrical outlets.)

There is also a small private sauna for rent for hotel guests only. The price of a private sauna session is 6.00 EUR/person and reserved at reception. We did not rent a spot, though.

Inclusive:

A Hearty and a wide offer of breakfast. There are some traditional Finnish foods we tried. There are selections of vegan or gluten-free foods and lactose intolerance dairy for those in this type of dietary needs.

There is a limited number of safety deposit boxes at the hotel reception for storing valuables free of charge. My friend could leave a packet that they stored in a safety box. The staff handed it to us immediately after the check-in procedures.

Wi-Fi is complimentary and was fast.

There is a free and lockable baggage storage room at the hotel reception.

You can request from their reception staff to call for a taxi, but let them know the night before if you need early in the morning.

The internet and computer use in the lobby are with a fee for some euros for a thirty-minute use. The receptionist will give the login details.

Staff:

Front desk employees are friendly and professional.

At the time of our check-in, there was a guest who had a heart attack while taking up the staircase, and the two staff ladies responded quickly and with the presence of mind.

The dining staff team are friendly and courteous, and they kept the serving trays fill up to the brim with goodies.

The only minus factor, in my opinion, is the old and too compact elevator box. Only two to five people can get in at a time.

To recap, if we were not conscious of our budget, we would have remained in this hotel for all the three nights we were in Helsinki. Those who have a lenient budget, of course, by all means, stay here! It is an excellent choice!
