Arriving in Siem Reap Airport and Immigration Reviews
Quick and easy process through immigration Feb 13, 2010
When I arrived at Siem Reap airport, I was on a Vietnam Airlines flight from Luang Prabang, arriving around 12pm, with no other flights arriving at the same time.
Walking into the airport, there is a queuing system for visa on arrival processing. There is room for three queues but for some reason, most people stick to the one giant line. Jump ahead and be the first to form one of the other two lines!
The visa fee for a tourist visa is US$20. There was a working ATM right next to the visa on arrival queue. You may want to have the cash on hand anyway, in case the ATM is not working as there is only one.
To receive your visa, hand the immigration official your:
-completed visa application form (received on the flight)
- one passport sized photo
About five minutes later, you are handed back your passport.
I was sitting in the 4th row of the airplane, so was near the front of the line for visa processing. However, it is pretty quick, so the last people probably had to wait about 15 minutes.
After you get your passport back, proceed to baggage pickup and off you go!
