Arriving in Bangkok Travel Reviews

Feb 07, 2007
International and Domestic flights are now from Suvarnabhumi
airport, Bangkoks new airport. Unlike the old airport there is no rail
link to getting into Bangkok which means a bus or taxi. A taxi into central
Bangkok will cost about 300 baht + the freeway tolls (50 baht) so if
two or more of you are sharing its probably the best option. For those
wanting to save a few baht, or if your going further afield, the airport buses run into several handy
locations where you can also use the BTS (skytrain) to get around.

Public Bus Service to Bangkok from Suvarnabhumi Airport

Bus Number 549 - Minburi
Bus Number 550 - Happy Land
Bus Number 551 -
Victory Monument (Expressway)
Bus Number 552 - Bang Na (On Nut BTS
station)
Bus Number 553 - Samut Prakan Bus Number 554 -
Don Muang
Airport (Expressway)
Public Bus Service to other provinces
Bus Number 389 - Pattaya
Bus Number 390 - Talad Rong Kluea
Bus Number 825 - NongKha

When
arriving in Bangkok, you will need to put an adress on your immigration
card, so its wise to pre-book hotel or guest house for at least the
first night or two. You can get much better rates by booking on-line

cygnus16 says: Transportation: With the new Skytrain (BTS) and subway system it is, for the most part, much easier to get around in Bangkok than it used to be. It's still often necessary to take other modes of transportation to reach many parts of the city. It would be "sanook" (fun) to take one of the old klo...
Deats says: Having criticised the Russian embassy thinking no western country could possibly be so inept, we met an Australian girl in the embassy area who was rather distraught. Her bag was snatched in Krabi by a motorbike and had her passport in. She came back to Bangkok to get a new one and they said her Tha...
