Arriving at Heydar Aliyev International Airport and WATER

When you arrive at the airport you will need to go through Passport Control first, then get in line for your visa, and then you will be directed back to Passport Control. This order is not indicated or anywhere in the arrival area(s). Passport Control does have specific lines for Foreign Citizens, but if no one is at the desk you can go to manned desks for Azeri citizens. I found it very helpful to already have my visa application completed with the two passport photos attached at the top in the indicated areas, however there is an area which to fill out the visa application and a gentleman that takes pictures (I assume for a fee).

DO NOT DRINK THE TAP WATER in Azerbaijan. It is not of good enough quality to drink. You should buy bottled water even if you are staying in a hotel.
