Aromatnaya reka

There aren't too many Vietnamese restaurants in Moscow, especially those which won't be spoiled with the attempt to adapt to the local taste: Russians aren't generally prone to anything hot & spicy due to that poor Soviet culinary principles of eliminating spices from everywhere (because some narrow-minded Bolshevik nutritionists thought it's bad for one's stomach).
This one (its name translates as 'Aroma River') situated in the former tenement house of the late 19th century, seems to as less adapted as it is possible in our city. Moreover, it's one of few restaurants in this district which hides a number of places of interest lying off the beaten track, so you can reward yourself with some simple but delicious food next to the local crowd after a walk through the block around Baumanskaya undeground station.
