Located in the heart of Tujunga Village in Studio City, Aroma Cafe is a haven for screenwriters, people-watchers, bookworms, gossipers and anyone looking to enjoy a sunny day. Seating is mostly outdoors - the tables and chairs are akin to the sort of furniture you would find in a garden in England, umbrellas provide shade from the sun - and a stone fountain's running water blends well with the cheerful chatter of the cafe's clientele. The food is delicious and comforting albeit a bit expensive. Breakfast is a dream - try the Eggs Aroma, a delicate spinach puff pastry topped with scrambled eggs and served with fresh fruit. Lunch is quite tasty as well - with a selection of salads, paninis and other sandwiches. But perhaps it is the selection of desserts that make Aroma Cafe the perfect meeting spot for afternoon teatime. Pair a slice of fruit tart with a delectable cafe latte served in a real cup. Don't get discouraged by the line that forms out the door - it moves quite quickly.

To get the most out of the "Aroma Cafe experience" a peek into "Portrait of a Bookstore" - a bookstore which shares space with the cafe - is an absolute must. Don't be fooled by it's small size - it has quite a good selection of both fiction and non-fiction books, and the store's owner is always willing to share her recommendations.

So, the next time the sun is out and the day is yours for the enjoying, take a drive out to 4360 Tujunga Avenue. You won't be disappointed.
