Aside from the cockroaches we found in the bathroom, the wobbly bed, and never having a warm shower for 5 days, the thing that made the Aroa Beachside not for Honeymooners was proprietor Jim. Rude, obnoxious, drunk, Jim was belittling to his guests, never welcoming or even caring to address you by your name. Some people might like him, as evidenced on our last night there when you could hear him with our neighbors upstairs yelling and drinking until 3 in the morning--who do you complain to when the hotel owner is keeping you up? The rest of the staff was nice,
Jim needs to take a lesson from them. Rarotonga's a beautiful place, don't waste your time here. |
