Armenian cuisine Yerevan Reviews
Armenian cuisine Mar 27, 2013
On the way back to hotel from city centre, we passed this small restaurant and we decided to try it as it is advertised as an authentic Armenian cuisine and not too far walk from the hotel.
When we enter the restaurant, inside are quite nice and seem there is big party going where the party consists of men only. The staff usher us to special small room inside the restaurant and we have the room to ourselves and away from prying eyes. The waiter gives free wine after we seated and before we order anything. Since we still don’t know the menu (even though in English language), the waiter come back with the picture menu and suggest the food for us.
So we followed his suggestion and we have traditional Armenian cuisine which supposedly for two people but only one dish and the price is quite pricey, more expensive than the hotel price.
The food was good and really delicious and the wine also great. The service was fantastic and tends to our need.
When we get our bill, we actually quite shock, as it was really expensive considering this is a third world country and it appears he charged us two meals for the only one meal we have. We didn’t say anything just paid and left but we felt cheated at this restaurant. I have rate this restaurant as an average because the food was good but for the price and quantity of the food, it is not really worth it. Other restaurant we been too (which we don’t know the name) has good quality of food and very cheap compare with this restaurant, even Shirak Hotel Restaurant is cheaper than this.
