Convenient location and reasonably priced business hotel Jul 07, 2008
Hotel Armada is mainly a business traveller's hotel. Located across the Federal Highway from the Petaling Jaya Hilton, it may seem that the hotel has to stay competitive.
Its rates are definitely a little lower compared to the Hilton, and the only difference between the executive deluxe suites of both hotels is that there is no bath tub in the bathrooms of the Armada's suites. It is conveniently located just across the street from the LRT train station, and is a five minute walk away. Guests staying at the hotel will also find it is to travel to the capital city of Kuala Lumpur as the hotel is located just next to the federal highway, and apart from the train, cabs are easy to come by. The executive deluxe room that I stayed in for one night was located on the 21st floor (there are only three executive floors). For the price of MYR258++, breakfast was included which was served in the Lounge on the Executive Floor, located on the 22nd Floor. It was pretty quiet when I had gone up at around 9am, with a couple being the only other guests. The view from my room was pretty nice, as not only could I see the traffic on the Federal Highway, but also the Petronas Twin Towers as well as the KL Tower from miles away. It was unusual though, to see a member of Housekeeping knock on the guests' hotel room door, offering laundry service. It seemed to me to be a nuisance, having some one knock on your door in the morning, not once or twice, but three times, each time shouting out LAUNDRY SERVICE! I should think that if you wanted your clothing laundered, you'd know exactly what to do, or at least contact housekeeping for assistance. Well, if you plan to sleep in, switch on the PRIVACY PLEASE button and you won't be disturbed. That's what I normally do from the time I check in. My room also had an adjoining door to the next room. I don't normally mind it, until I heard the 'neighbours' playing with the door knob of their adjoining door and kept pushing at my mine!! I was a little too paranoid that I almost took the chair that was in my room to place against the door. The last thing I wanted was trespassers!! Other than that, it was a pleasant stay. I absolutely adored the bed! Or maybe I just needed a good night's sleep, which I didn't get as much of as I'd like. |
