The Romans arrived in Arles France in 123 BC, i arrived by train in 2012 AD, the Romans left a big mark on Arles ,more than me.--Arles was in the Roman Province of Gallia Narboneis, The Roman monuments are on UNESCO s list.--The Dutch post- impressionist Vincent Van Gogh lived in Arles from 1888 to 1889, and produced over 300 paintings during that time. Nowadays a international photography festival is held here.--- The river is the Rhone and there are boat trips.---Population is around 50,000.The nearest airport is Marseilles.---The Gare D"Arles railway station has connections to Avignon, Nimes, Marseilles, and Paris.---Arles is called the Gateway to the Camarque.--Sights are Roman Arena, Church of St. Trophime with its cloister. and Place de la Republique.
