Discover Arlee, Montana May 11, 2017
Arlee is a pleasant and tiny town of about 600 (up 6% since 2000) located along U. S. Highway 93 in Lake County in Northwest Montana. Arlee was formed sometime after 1873 when Chief Arlee of the Salish Tribe of the Flathead Nation moved some of his people to this area on a forced move out of the Bitterroot Valley. The town is named after Chief Arlee. In addition to English, Salish is the official language of Arlee and is taught in the schools. Arlee has a few buildings of historical and/or architectural interest. I liked the simple beauty of this church I noticed as I drove down 93. There is also a botanical garden here I missed.
