Well, the day I had been waiting for for 5 months had finally arrived! I would be leaving today for my 2 week adventure in Eastern Europe! Around 11:15 Ben showed up at my house to give me a ride to the airport. From 12:00 noon until 10:00 am local time in Paris, I would be stuck in airports and long flights. I did, however, meet an interesting German American, who is living in Miami teaching gifted first graders, named Ute on the flight to Paris. As I was unable…

One of my most favorite places to travel to for a road trip.
I've been coming here for over 30 years. It is sacred ground to me.
Not only is the town beautiful, but the whole surrounding area has lakes, streams, caves and cliffs. Lot's of back roads to wander on.

Our motel in Conway was sitting right on U.S. Highway 65, which would take us into the town of Eureka Springs. We awoke to a bright blue sky and cool temperatures. The ride up U.S. 65 was perfect. The road followed the natural curvature of the hills as we road north towards Missouri. Our leather jackets felt good in the chilly morning air, but the sun was shining brightly on our backs, warming us up nicely.
By the time we rode into Eureka Springs, it was lu…

Taking what little responsiblities I had left, I lined up my electronic world of banking to handle my issues and mentally prepared or tried to figure out what I was actually embarking out on. Rough estimates were anywhere from ending up broken down on the side of the road or to end up …

When it was time to leave Memphis, we saw a sign for the bridge across the Mississippi. Neither of us had a great desire to visit Arkansas, nor to ever, so we figured we should drive across the bridge and back just to cross another state off the list of states visited.

A spontaneous road trip from NYC to Dallas planned before the day of departing. Our main goal was to watch the Golden State Warriors play the Dallas Mavericks, but along the way, we saw green and calming America and were introduced to some Southern hospitality.
