Visiting all 50 US State Capitol Buildings!: Little Rock Travel Photos
posted by:
Jun 08, 1993 - Aug 22, 2006
It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!) Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd.... All entries are maintained in on the 'first visit' date.

Searcy, Arkansas, USA -› -› ...
The Harding University Campus is a private four year Christian College affiliated with the Churches of Christ. Their tag line, Faith Learning and Living is all over the campus. It reminds you exactly why you are there. It is a beautiful campus that sits in Searcy, AR. The campus is very clean and well landscaped. The facilities are very modern and beautiful. They offer quite a few majors with something for everyone. Harding also has a hotel on campus called the Heritage Inn. This hotel is con…

Little Rock, Arkansas - Mission Accomplished!
posted by:
Dec 31, 1930 - Jan 01, 3000
Yes, I have been promising for a long time that I would be going to Little Rock, Arkansas.  I know a few people out there were disappointed (me) that it hadn’t happened yet.  Well, it finally did!  Arkansas was more than I ever dreamed it would be!  So I am proud to announce it as State #17.     Rather than just see only the Little Rock area, we decided that we wanted more and took the back roads all the way into Memphis.  You can’t see Arkansas on the…

Arkansas

Jun 07, 2006 - Sep 07, 2006
This morning I woke up in Little Rock and, since I had been to tired the night before to leave my hotel room, I spent some time exploring downtown before checking out the Peabody hotel. Downtown revolves around a newly created/restored river walk district. It was very tourist friendly without being devoid of charm and local flavor. There are many old buildings in a colonial style, which always suprises me in the south, but were charming. I had some much deserved iced flavored coffee, and enjo…

The backroads.. reasons
posted by:
Oct 05, 2007 - Oct 11, 2007
I travel the back roads for several reasons: My RV, although very trustworthy, is a little aging, an 89' no spring chick for sure, so the top speed on a flat surface would be 50-55 mph, throw in a few hills...your looking at 45-50 max... so, I prefer smaller roads, because I don't have to deal with people hauling rear who are thinking... geez this is a freeway for crying out loud...move that hunk of... well anyway you get my point. On small roads I do have to pull over occasionaly to let car…

Hot Springs
posted by:
Apr 08, 2006 - Apr 09, 2006
I drove from Oklahoma City to Hot Springs through some very pretty country in the Ouachita Mountains.  Hot Springs is unlike any National Park I've been to.  It's actually hard to understand why it holds that status instead of National Historical Park or something similar.  On one side of the street, you will see beautiful architecture in the well maintained spa houses even though several are no longer running.  Then on the other side of the street, you will see a lot…

Dag 8
posted by:
Jun 26, 2008 - Jul 12, 2008
Dat i…

I went to arkansas in may to visit my oldest sister Amanda, her husband Marty, my neice Mackenzie and nephew Kody. It was a long boring trip from PA. We went through West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri. Nothing interesting happened for the first few states.      Once we hit Indiana we stopped in Corydon for dinner. Lemme tell you now that the Wendy's there is old school. It wasnt my best trip to Wendys but it was food. …
