Hiking to the Mogollon Rim
posted by:
Jun 04, 2006
I thought it would be cooler up there if I got there in the morning and hiked before noon.  Boy was I wrong.  I rented a SUV to drive on that awful road, and I got there and started hiking around 10.  I went about a mile and a half up the trail and the map said I should turn right at the fenceline and go another mile and a half to the Mogollon Rim, but at the place where I should have turned right, there was a gate across the trail.  Now, being tall as I am, normally i w…

Here we sit.  Again.  Waiting for the rich folks to finish whatever it is that they do after we drop them off so we can take them back to La La land to their special place.  Not too bad a spot to hang out though - better than freakin' Teterhole, that's for sure!  Two more days and I am back in the mountains, where my woman and the fresh snow await me!  One warm, and one cold, and both oh so much fun!

Visiting all 50 US State Capitol Buildings!: Phoenix Travel Photos
posted by:
Jun 08, 1993 - Aug 22, 2006
It started innocently enough; I visited Juneau, Alaska in June 1993 and explored the State Capitol building. A few months later, It was Montgomery, Alabama's. In the course of time, it became a hobby. Near the end it became a bit of an obsession. Then, in August of 2006, I visited my 50th US State Capitol building in Pierre, SD. (Yeh!) Yes, I know, I'm a geography nerd.... All entries are maintained in on the 'first visit' date.

Take off Day!!!

Finally, it was time to return to Phoenix.  We decided to take a cab to the airport in the morning so we wouldn't have to deal with all the luggage.  Again, we listened the whole way there to more updates on Indonesia.  The flights went well, and soon, we were home.
