8:04pmCame into the last and final timezone. I'm currently in AZ and witnessed one heck of a sunset. Recently had dinner...I even got my own personal announcement! The people in that got to know me that well. There was, "final call for 7:15 reservations" followed by "Jonathan to the dining car, Jonathan to the dining car please."I also made friends with a second couple from England. We sat together for dinner and discussed all sorts of things from our own trips to Harry Potter. I needed to kn…

Returning
home, we cruised through Payson and the parks, basking in the beauty
of AZ. Before entering Fountain Hills, we were gifted with brief,
cool showers! Once the showers
ceased, the heat wave engulfed us! Oh, the scorching heat!! It was a
sure sign that we are home, at last!

Leave Phoenix, headed for Japan. We're flying from Phoenix to San Francisco, then San Francisco directly into Osaka (KIX). We're leaving on a Wednesday morning in April but arrive at KIX somewhere around 6 PM Thursday night, local time.

After many delays in the airline, of course, we finally made it to Phoenix by 3pm on June 4th. Just relaxed the first day to get used to the "dry heat", not usually found in Minnesota, and got our car rental. The next day we headed down to Nogales, Mexico. Spent about 3 hours there looking at stuff to buy. I mainly just wanted to practice my Spanish, but all of the vendors prefered to speak english anyway when I was bargaining. …

My second trip to Tucson wasn't as crazy as the first, but I
certainly enjoyed myself as expected. This time I was able to see the
historic Tombstone, catch some spring training action between the
Angels and D-Backs, and even had enough daylight left to get in some
pool time. Tombstone was about what you would expect. The scene from
the old west you see in the movie with a lot of tourism business tied
in. It was cool to see the dirt roads and wood plank sidewalks where
the taxi's are a…

We had a layover in Phoenix. You see, Phoenix was a hub for America West Airlines, now called USAirways. See my previous entry for my grievances over that issue. Another issue that comes to mind is why did USAir become USAirways and when did they make this change. I think they were going bankrupt and had to change their official name to avoid all the lawsuits. Going back to the website issues, www.usair.com redirects to www.usairways.com/awa. Again, this is odd h…

First time i have been to USA with a student program called work and travel. Basically it is about working , earning your money to travel then go have fun with your friends till you go back home country. So it was with some friends from school and met some other friends there. Starting from Utah we traveled to San Fransisco and all the way down to Mexico through California and finally Las Vegas baby :))

We stopped to see Hoover Dam , then down to South Rim of the grand canyon. Spent the night and walked Bright Angel Trail. Stayed at the El Tovar Lodge. Very nice room with great view and then diner at the Lodge. Diner was expensive and not that great of a selection and then the food was not good. The next day drove to the North Rim through the Vermillion Cliffs. Very pretty drive ,and spent the night at the North rim Lodge. The North Rim is much quietier and coole…
