Headed out around 9:00PM from Orange County,CA making a stop in Las Vegas for gambling. Arrived at Zion National Park in Utah with no sleep at around 7:00 AM. Spent a couple days there, then headed to Bryce Canyon National Park to find it snowing. From there headed through Lake Powell to Flagstaff for a couple nights and a day trip to Grand Canyon. Then south to Lake Havasu for time on the lake with friends/family. Home by Saturday night after a week long trip in time to start school on Monday!

Recently my husband had to travel to Phoenix for business; I was sad to see him go so I decided to surprise him. After I dropped him at the airport I went home and found a last minute deal to Phoenix for the weekend. After a 36 hour stint in a data center, I finally heard from him. At this point I was freaking because I thought he may on a plane on his way home, so relieved to hear he was still in AZ I told him I was planning to meet him there in 2 days. We spent most of our time in Sedona.

The family moved to Arizona. Suprise. But it led to some nice trips when I came home this summer, including the Grand Canyon. We rode the train from some town... I cannot even recall, which was not even scenic, but I got a nap in. And then we pulled up. Because we went with my two year old brother or son whatever you want to assume he is... we only stayed for two days, and stuck around the rim for easy walks. That did not limit our views or amazement. Damn, it is gorgeous.

Right after we landed at PHX, my mom and I met up with my friend Emily and her husband. We had lunch together and then decided to check out a ghost town about 45 minutes outside Phoenix. We had never seen a ghost town before, and coming from Virginia, the Wild West is like a fantasy for us. We only know the colonial history of the East, not the romanticly dangerous West of the mid to late 1800s.
Sitting at the foot of the Superstition Mountains, Goldfield claims to the only "authentic" …
