Spent the Summer in the US this year. We went to many of the Nationa Parks in the west here are a few of them .
Grand Canyon was the first. We stayed at the El Tovar with a balcony overlooking the rim. It was fantastic as we ordered in Breakfast to watch the sun rise. I have been there several times in the past but it is still amazing.

After nearly continuous, daily snowfalls from October 2007 through May of 2008, I planned a four day escape to Phoenix to thaw out my feet. Allegiant Air had a 2 day sale with non-stops from Green Bay to Mesa for a ridiculously cheap rate of $150 round trip. So without skipping a beat, I snatched the deal and deserted my city for the desert.I was so surprised to see just how many water features and founds abounded from the sand of the desert. Colorful flowers and the sound of casc…

I will be putting up pictures from many parts of the state. I will try to identify where the pic was taken, but if not please just ask. :) Arizona has a diverse landscape from Alpine to desert. And believe it or not we do have forests with trees and a couple of Ski resorts. The Phoenix area while large has a lot to do, from muesumes, clubs, restraunts, outdoor activities, great weather, shopping, plus much more. Other areas like Tombstone has old style character. There are old tow…

Well within the borders of the Navajo Nation in Arizona, Chinle was our final destination to see the great southwest ruins. After miles and miles of red sand and dust devils, we arrived in Chinle. Grabbing a bite at a local restraunt, we went into the canyon. We had decided to visit White House Ruins. Though in the land of the Navajo, White House was built by the Anasazi. There are several ways to get to the canyon floor for a visit. Hire an expensive 4x4 to drive you down a bumpy road,…

In 1890, Gold King was a suburb of Jerome, where miners were digging for copper, and instead struck gold! You can walk in and out of old mercantile buildings, assay office, schoolhouse, residences, a blacksmith shop from 1901, see the operation of an old saw mill, old mining equipment, see dozens of antique cars and fire engines, feed the animals that reside here (a donkey, some chickens, rabbits, and a goat), and take many amazing photographs!

On to Page through the cliffs to Page, Did the tour to Antelope Canyon the canyon was Awesome. Could of stayed for hours just to watch the rocks change colors. Then to our room at the Courtyard. Very nice room. Went to Lake Powell Resort to watch the boats. a stop at the Dam and back to Page for diner. We stopped at the Denneys and had great food. The next day we went through Monument Valley it was sort of a disappointment I was expecting more I guess.

Grand Canyon National Park, a World Heritage Site, encompasses
1,218,375 acres and lies on the Colorado Plateau in northwestern
Arizona. The land is semi-arid and consists of raised plateaus and
structural basins typical of the southwestern United States. Drainage
systems have cut deeply through the rock, forming numerous steep-walled
canyons. Forests are found at higher elevations while the lower
elevations are comprised of a series of desert basins.
Well known for its geologic …
