There are many places to dine while in Tucson, with the diversity we have here you can eat just about anything you want: Food is life, so no one can blame me for enticing everyone with the variety I'm about to include in here. I have tried to look at all food options from Chinese to Mexican, Italian, Mongolian, Vietnamese, Middle Eastern, Inter-continental to mention but a few. To be fair, I have literally included full-service menus for all the restaurants to allow you to choose. Now, now, d…

We had discussed trying to hit Sedona and/or the Grand Canyon on the way home but it was going to be too much driving for poor Melanie to handle. We decided Sedona was the best option so we could sleep in a little since we were out later the night before. We met for breakfast and were ready to roll around 9am. Brett was a sweetheart and took all our luggage to the car while we finished getting ready. :D
We had planned to try and compromise on the foodie adventures and…

This year we planned to make a cross-country trip from our home in central Califonia to Key West Florida and then back by a slightly more northern route. First plan is about 45 days.

The very first Rodeo show I ever saw was at the Santa Cruz county fair grounds? Well, at the beginning of 2004 after relocating from England to this little town in the middle of nowhere and marrying a self proclaimed cowboy he decided to inaugurate me into the western culture. I was forced (not literally of course) to learn the wild west lifestyle, including cleaning horse stables, feeding the thorough bred horses that my ex-husband purchased and bred at such dear prices and on occasion try t…

Woke up at 3.45 AZ time after sleeping for about 3 and a half hours. Damn.. tried to go back to sleep, but it proved hard to do. I just couldn't, so I guess Adrian will have to live with me sleeping a bit in the car on our way to Kayenta. lol..
Anyway; I was up and found USA Today hanging on the door. Read about Obama winning the President elect last night in, and just took life easy. What a start to my vacation. Coming the very same day, Obama makes History. It's indeed a turning…

I debated whether or not to include this... but if we are discussing how bizarre life can be in Phoenix, I don't see how I can leave it out. It's time to discuss our very special version of the criminal justice system.
We have a very well known (infamous, if you will) Sherriff in Phoenix; Sherriff Joe Arpaio. He is in charge of the jail system here, amongst other things.
Sheriff Arpaio, years ago, decided we were (as a city) spending too much money on the prison system; …

Over the last week, I was amazed when my friend Brenda (who is from Australia but just moved to England) announced that she's purchased a ticket to come to New York to celebrate my birthday with me!!! Also, my great friend Lorenzo, who I met in Florence and then again saw in London earlier this year, wants to come as well; he hasn't purchased a ticket yet, but it's looking really good!
I've become VERY interested in teaching English in China; preferably in Shanghai or the surroun…

I was eager to start my day today, I felt like it was going to be a good day!... I have no reason to back it up other than finding a quarter in the back seat of my car this morning. I was trying to get all the crap that was not needed for this trip out of my car. In other words make more room in the back seat so that I can throw more crap in the back seat on this trip. Last night was a battle of what to wear in Vegas... I'll be honest - I only have a couple goto shirts. I was pretty much…

From San Diego, our next stop for the night was Scottsdale, Arizona. It was a long drive and not a lot of time to stop and stretch our legs, so the perfect opportunity to get to know one another. Marie, the tour guide picked on me first to stand up the front of the bus and tell a bit about myself. At the time, I was working as a flight attendant so I stood at the front of the bus and gave a safety demonstration. I demonstrated how to use the windows as emergency exits. I also showed the…

First I just have to tell you about little Andrew. He was simply adorable. 5 minutes after I met him, he was in my heals and followed me anywhere. He wanted to show me stuff, and talk all the time. Poor me could barely understand what he said.. lolHe was just 2 years old, but had alreday learned his ABC, knew that if anything happened, he should call 911 and he also knew their phone nr. in case he got separated from his parents. Wow.. kids sure learn at an early age in the states. B…

Back at the airport on company wide wifi again =) Finally a moment to think. I was so frustrated during this trip, but it ended up being wonderful. Eko and I had a bit of an all night talk to straighten things out and you know that always makes for a better friendship. I realized that my stress vibes can cripple people into not
making any decisions for fear of making me angry. I can’t wait to
travel with Eko again whenever that may be and if she lets me. We even have
these gorgeous match…

There are two canyons, the Upper Antelope Canyon and the Lower Antelope Canyon. Our first visit was to the Lower Antelope Canyon which, of the two, is the more challenging hike. This canyon is not for small children or anyone with a walking or balance issue. Not to worry though because the Upper Antelope Canyon has pretty much the same scenery but is an easy walk that anyone can do. The location is north eastern Arizona. It is a very scenic drive from Flagstaff. We ar…
