A hotel and waterpark vacation in Phoenix Sep 04, 2016
This is a great hotel and water park location in Phoenix. I spent two weeks at this resort during my move to Phoenix while I was waiting to get into my new home. The hotel offers water park tickets as part of a hotel package, which is well worth it if you have small children or want to spend your time at a water park.

The resort hotel offers golf, swimming, fine dining and many other amenities. The hotel rooms were spacious and well appointed. The hotel is also located conveniently near local shopping and many other restaurant dining options. Have fun in the valley of the sun. You will never want to leave.

Best for kids because of Water Park Sep 07, 2014
During the summer months, we do "staycations" here in Arizona where we just "stay" in hotels near our home but avail of amenities like the pools or golf areas. The Arizona Grand Resort is a favorite among families with kids in the Metro Phoenix Area. The hotel has been there for years and has seen better days, but the rooms are spacious and good for families.

The water park is the main feature here which is open during the summer months. Our twins enjoyed the slides and there is even a small wave pool. Lots of action in this place, with lots and lots of kids, looks like the staff may be overworked though.

However, it rained on that night and the second day and there was some lightning so the park was closed at nighttime. We just paid (pay-per-view on TV) and watched a movie in the room. It also rained hard so when we woke up, we noticed that part of the parking lot was flooded! and actually, there was a car submerged in the water! poor owner of rarely rains in Arizona but this was a surprise for us to see some flooding in a hotel. I also tried to ask for vouchers to re-enter the water park another day because of the rain but we were not given any. The manager said they are not responsible for the weather. Okay :)

With good weather, a nice place to take the kids. Chaotic but once in your room, you are okay and you have a big space.

Luxory hotel in Phoenix Jul 03, 2011
The Arizona Resort truly lives up to its name. It is a magnificent luxury hotel with its own water park and golf course. The Resort also has an athletic complex with a great gym as well as courts for basketball and racquetball. The resort itself is an exploration one could spend hours wandering the grounds taking in the wonderful views of the area at sunset. There are many different types of rooms for people in all price ranges, while I listed the cost as expensive that's only if one takes in all the amenities such as the Resort restaurant. It is perfectly affordable if one checks into the cheapest rooms which are still of very high quality and certainly not any kind of cheap knock off. I highly recommend this resort to anyone staying in Phoenix, from the water park to the wonderful views of the area this hotel fits people in all price ranges while offering great luxury.

Arizona Grand Resort with Waterpark, beautiful and relaxing in the off-season. Apr 30, 2008
I stayed here at the end of April, beginning of May, which is their off-peak or shoulder season. Room rates were quite good at this time, around $179 a night. (Peak season is $399 and up).

The only thing to watch for when booking is to notice that they tack on an extra $20/night for a resort fee, as this hotel has a water park in it.

Suites were beautiful and comfortable. It had just re-opened under the new name when I stayed there, so it was crisp and clean.

Close to Sky Harbor but VERY far from Williams Gates Airport (Allegiant Air's primary airport and an $75 shuttle ride back to the airport).

The property is beautifully landscaped with water features in every direction. In addition to the water park there were a number of smaller pools; some family, some adult. Colorful with yellow umbrellas and bright bougainvillea flowers.

A lovely golf course was on site, the pro-shop and club house were under construction at the time but were not friendly to women golfers. They carried no women's apparel and did not appear to have women's clubs to rent for the day.

Four great restaurants on the property (at least). One was high end Japanese, one was Mexican, one was Barbecue, and one very high end gourmet, each a little bit of a hike from the hotel.

Signage to navigate the web of hotel pods was difficult, so I needed to ask for directions how to find the coffee cafe' in the morning.

The water park was terrific. Plenty of space to lounge, a large lazy river, waterfalls, and 2 huge water slides, one of which was 8 stories high!

Overall, this hotel scored very high for me as a wonderful place to thaw out from my long winter back home.
