Arimax Hotel, Shibuya Reviews

I wasn't sure whether to put 'Average' for cost, or 'Expensive', but I think it's probably average for Tokyo. A small, boutique hotel on Kamiyama-cho in Shibuya, the Arimax doesn't have a lot of 'extras' on offer. No gym, no pool, no 'big-hotel-chain' facilities, it's comfortable and in a great location. 5 minutes walk down the road is the bustling area of Shibuya, a mecca of shopping and people watching (not to mention the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world!) so the lack of facilities is (if only partially) made up for by the location.
My room was comfortable, with a nice bathroom and two single beds, though a pervading smell of stale cigarette smoke was a bit annoying, as was the ashtrays and cigarette lighters everywhere (I quit in January). However, the room was serviced to a good standard every day and being that I didn't spend much time there, it was perfect for a short term stay. Part of the The bright lights of Tokyo travel blog |
