Arensburg Boutique Hotel & Spa - Kuressaare Hotel Sep 05, 2013
The room is simple but nice with all modern amenities to spoils you like all four stars hotel, and the luxury spa treatment if you are into it especially for women. Plenty of spa treatment to choose at competitive rate compare with western European price. There is also a small swimming pool, sauna and a Jacuzzi at the ground floor which is free to use for hotel guest. A private sauna also available with a small fee.

The mattress is really comfortable and good to sleep in, the big sofa in the room also very cozy and wish I could take it home. The flat screen television hang on the wall on top of the dresser has good position to watch from the bed without causing neck pain. The bathroom has a bathtub, clean, nice smell and plenty of soap and shampoo.

The location of the hotel is excellent, close to all interested sights in Kuressaare, within walking distant to all places, from the castle, Central Square and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

From outside, the hotel building looks like a small castle with a stone gate as a door. It appears it is part of the old building and behind it - is a new and more modern building which is more expensive than the old building.

It appears we have a room at the old building just right behind the reception area. There is minus point of the room location, since we were woke up by the noise of people talking in the hallway and also at the reception area in the morning. We had a good night sleep since it was very quiet at night time but in morning we can hear the reception phone ring and guest talking in the lobby area and the cleaner chat to each other.

The hotel restaurant located at the front next to the reception area and onto the garden at the front door with the outdoor seating during summer time. The restaurant setting looks really nice and pretty. It seems the menu price is on the high side compare with other restaurants nearby – therefore we decide not to eat in the hotel, so we are not sure about the food quality there.

Since our room price included buffet breakfast, we head to the other restaurant at the basement area in the morning. The breakfast is really good with plenty of choices from hot and cold dishes and plenty of cakes, croissants, savoury, etc. I really like those breakfast and the strange thing is, we are not allow to make our own coffee – even though the coffee machine available there and you just need to press the button – the waitress will make and bring the coffee or tea to the table as requested by the hotel guest. The rest of the food, we can help our self. The room cost €65 per night with buffet breakfast and free use of swimming pool, sauna and Jacuzzi.

I would recommend this hotel if you visit Kuressaare.

WOW, "a steal" so to speak!
We had that kind of coffee service too in one of the hotels in Israel -- they make coffee for the guest and then deliver it to the table :))

The stylish spa hotel Sep 05, 2013
We arrive fairly late at night in Kuressaare and we need to find a hotel. The first one we try isn’t all that attractive so we continue down the road till we get to the Arensburg Boutique Hotel and Spa. We go to the reception and ask for the price for a room - and they say the usual price for one night in a single room is 100 Euros. We say this is a bit expensive and the receptionist says that considering we come so late we can get it for 80 Euros. We still think it is a bit expensive and considering it is out of season we would like it for a somewhat cheaper price. And then the receptionist asks what we want to pay - and we try with 50 Euros - and she says this is too little instead she offers the room for 65 Euros. We decide this is probably a reasonable price for this hotel so we take the room.

Our hotel is in the old building of the hotel apparently there is another more modern wing. The room isn’t that big but it got what you need a bed a flat screen television and bathroom with a bathtub. On the top of the desk is a spa menu - and here you can see sexism in function. When you go to the facial treatment - there is three different for men for all age groups. And then you go to the women section - here is a couple of pages with different facial treatments. That is a couple of pages for each age group which is young, under 45 and 45+. So much for equal treatment of both sexes.

The hotel got a nice restaurant with outdoor service during the summer time. It looks very nice and would be a good place to have lunch or dinner on a sunny summer day. But we don’t eat the hotel so I have no idea about the quality of the food at the restaurant.

The location of the hotel is central - but to be fair almost anything will be central in Kuressaare. It is just a short walk to the castle of the city and in the other direction it is a short walk to the central square (which isn’t that big) and the shop where you can get supplies.

There is a good buffet breakfast in the morning at the first floor in the new building there are both hot and cold dishes with some small pancakes and eggs plus bread and a selection of cold meats for the bread.

In the basement area of the hotel there is spa facilities which we didn’t use since we came too late in the evening the day before so in the morning we walk down to have a look. There are common saunas for the guest to use for free - if you like a private sauna you have to pay for yourself. There is a small swimming pool and a hot tub down in the ground area as well. The pool is pretty small but it is enough for a couple of short laps if you have remembered to bring your swimmers - unlike me.
