Some splendid beaches on the Ross of Mull Sep 01, 2010
The Ross of Mull is thw southernmost peninsula sticking out to the west on the Isle of Mull. it is well known for its gorgeous beaches - at least by those who do look for donkeys or man-made attractions.

Two fine beaches are to be found south of Bunessan by taking the road behind the Argyll Arms pub and turning left on it towards Ardchiavaig. These are Ardchiavaig where our dog, Jezebel, chased a police car when a puppy and Ardalanish. The latter is reached by turning right off the Ardchiavaig road and driving until you reach a small car park. The beach is about 10 minutes walk away down an obvious path. I am attaching a picture to show the size and emptiness of the beach but you may be interested to know that the smaller dog is Jezebel and the other is my son's dog, Harry.

The other beach we particularly liked is much smaller. This is Kintra, reached by turning right at Fionnphort. There is a tiny semi-island at the far side of the beach from where the road stops and children of about 4 or 5 have adventures reaching the highest point and looking out for pirates.
