A beautiful place to stay Jun 04, 2012
This hotel is in a beautiful old Victorian (or Georgian or Edwardian... its old anyway!) converted house. Its in a beautiful neighbourhood, very quiet and clean.

We stayed in a twin room, en suite, for €99 including breakfast. Our room had a small balcony, over-looking the stunning landscaped garden out the back.

The bathroom was a bit small, but not so small that you have to reverse out! And it was very clean.

There is a big car-park to the front of the hotel, and a bus stop outside the gate. The Luas (tram) is about 10 minutes walk away, and its only 10 minutes journey to Stephen's Green for about €1.80.

The breakfast was lovely, plenty choice with both continental and traditional Irish options.

The staff couldn't have been more friendly, pointing out directions on the map for us.

The location was a bit out of the way for us (we were going to the O2 for a concert) but if you are planning on exploring the South side of Dublin its ideal.

There is no bar on-site, but maybe thats a good thing! And if you want a drink, Rathgar high street is only a few minutes walk.
The lovely back garden at Ardagh h…

Ardagh House Overview

Ardagh House is a gracious and spacious detached Victorian residence of character and charm. We are situated about 1.5 miles South of St. Stephens Green in this premier residential area. All our rooms are en-suite and our property is fully non-smoking. We have excellent off street parking and the bus stop is just outside our gate. Ardagh House is a deluxe three star guest house and is convenient to the city centre. Centrally located between Rathgar, Darty, Rathmines and Ranelagh, our family-run guest house offers bed and breakfast accommodation and will offer you a peaceful environment as a base for your visit, while the sights and sounds of Dublin are within easy reach. Built in 1898, most of the original features of the house have been retained during its recent refurbishment. The lounge, dining room and many of the guest bedrooms are located in the original house, and enjoy the beautiful proportions of buildings of that era. Later extensions were added with the original style in mind, and the property offers wonderful views of the gardens and surrounding areas.
