Architecture of San Gimignano Reviews
Well preserved medieval architecture in Tuscan hills Jun 21, 2008
If you are driving through Tuscany, a visit to San Gimignano is a must. Well preserved and sitting high on a hill surrounded by a wall and 14 towers that stand guard over this picturesque village.
Along with the towers there are plenty of churches, piazzas, archways and passageways showcasing the renaissance architecture. You might even take a passageway and come out at a lookout point over the Tuscan countryside.
I will post a couple of photos but they do not do the village justice. You should see it for yourself.
San Gimignano is listed as a world heritage site.
