Archipelago Hostel Old Town Stockholm Reviews
A clean and well located hostel Oct 24, 2009
I would probably stay in that hostel again because it is location is so perfect, right in center of Old Town and 15 minutes walk from central station so you can easily go everywhere on foot.
The hostel is very clean and the staff is rather friendly and speak at least English, French and (of course)Swedish.
The check-in is between 3:00 and 6:00 pm but you can go earlier and live your luggages there. If you arrive later than 6, inform them before, otherwise you will not be able to have your key room. After 6:00 pm, there is no more staff in the hostel.
There are small lockers in every rooms, bring your own padlock.
The bed linen are not included, no sleeping bags allowed, but you can use your own bed sheets.
The dorms are pretty small but beds comfortable and it is well heated.
There is a free Internet access, maps and a common kitchen if you want to cook your meals.

Well placed hostel, but you pay for it Sep 02, 2008
This could be one of the best located hostels in Stockholm. It is right in the center of Gamla Stan, the old town, and only a 10 minute walk to the surrounding islands. The building blends in to the street so you need to pay attention, we walked right by it at night.
We had a double, which is 2 single beds and not too much else. There is a 2ft clearing in the middle to walk down and that is your room, but what more do you need? The downside is it cost 50 quid a night, which I guess by Stockholm standards isn't bad.
You pay for linens and towels, 65 Skr I think it was. They only have a limited amount of rooms so you'll want to book early. I saw a bunch of people get turned away since it was full.
There is no common area to meet others which was a bit of a negative but go to any of the bars or clubs on the street and you'll be sorted. There are two showers in each of the M/F shower rooms and one toilet each which wasn't much of an issue for us, but we did sleep until the early afternoon usually.
The lodgers ranged from young adults to families with a child or two. You never really saw anyone walking around the place though, it was always quiet. In the reception room there is also a refrigerator and a computer with the internet which could be helpful.
I'd go back despite the cost, location was too good.
