The archaeological museum of Thessaloniki is perhaps the second best museum in Greece.I was surprised that there was no other review on this museum and that i would make the first one.

The museum exhibits artifacts from the whole region of Macedonia. Most of them belong to the times of the Kingdom of Macedon and the Roman era. During the Roman era Thessaloniki became a very important city cause it was located on the trade route between Rome and the East. Therefore the archaeological findings are many and some of them very impressive.

The highlight of the museum is the sector with the gold of Macedon. There is a big room were all the unearthed golden artifacts and Jewels of the Macedonian era are exhibited.

Once again i don't remember the entrance price cause i entered with my student card.
