Arabia's Wildlife Centre Sharjah Reviews
Arabian Wildlife Sanctuary Jun 16, 2012
The Arabian Wildlife Centre is part of the Emirate of Sharjah's bid to market itself as the cultural capital of the UAE.This along with the other museums and cultural sites in the Emirate were designed to tap into the tourist market of Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Located on the E88 road on the way to the East Coast.About 25km from the centre of Sharjah and easily reached from Dubai from the Outer Bypass road. The Park consists of the Arabian Wildlife Centre,Natural History Museum,Botanical Centre and Children's petting Zoo. Also on site is the breeding centre for endangered animals which is not open to the public.
The Arabian Wildlife Centre has animal and bird exhibits from all over the Arabian Peninsular not just the UAE. Winner of several international awards for it's work in conservation and breeding of endangered species. It is very well thought out and well worth a couple of hours of holiday time. The open aviary and display of monitor lizards are particularly well done.
Unfortunately no cameras are allowed inside as most of the animals are nocturnal but it's still worth a visit.
