Aquarena Kitzbuhel Reviews
Aquarena Mar 24, 2011
Aquarena is the public pool in Kitzbuhel. It is a large, pleasant pool and a nice place to recover from a day’s skiing. It is close to the bottom of the main Gondola.
There are two main areas, a shallow pool for relaxing in and a deeper pool for swimming lengths. The shallower pool has bubbly places and waterfall showers, as well as a nice place with a current to play in and a children’s pool with a little slide. For older children (and me) there are two flumes, one blue one you go down in a tube and a black one with sparkly lights. Neither are very fast, but they are fun. Other facilities include a small amusement arcade, a sauna (the naked kind) and a very nice café selling ice cream, snacks, soft drinks and beer. There are spacious changing rooms with room for families and good hairdryers.
Entrance is around the 6 euro mark. I am not sure about disabled access – I think you’d have to phone ahead to check. Everyone speaks English. You can even hire a swimming costume if you’ve forgotten yours.
