Aqua Zoo

If you want to take a day off just go to Aqua Zoo in Leeuwarden. It is a small zoo but it is very peaceful and beautiful there. For relaxing, walking and "wildlife". The place is still developing and chances often. The animals they have are small, no elephants there! This zoo finds its origin in an otter station. But the otters are few in number these days. You will find different kinds of small monkeys. A lot of birds, along with wild storks that choose this place to breed. At lunchtime the zoo keepers will demonstrate how they feed the inhabitants and tell the audience about the species. My favorite place is the pelican lake. For the kids there is a playground. And this is situated near the coffeecorner.
