Appley Locks Jun 25, 2017
Appley Locks (Lock 91) are the last (or first if travelling from Liverpool) on the main branch of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The locks are situated on a rural stretch between Appley Bridge (near Wigan) and Parbold (West Lancashire).

The deep lock has a rise of 12 feet. There are some disused locks alongside the usable lock which are known as the shallow ones - they had been restored, back in the 1980s/1990s but they have fallen derelict again.
