try their apple dumplings :) Feb 15, 2014
We’ve been to this American country cooking restaurant three times already and each time, they have put out consistent quality diner/home cooking sort of food. The restaurant is conveniently located at CA Highway 99 in the city of Tulare. A huge billboard is seen along the highway so it can’t be missed.

The previous visits were good as far as costumer service is but today’s dining was quite different. We still got a friendly service from the staffs but the waiting for our food took some time. But it’s probably because we came at their peak hours. Nonetheless, the foods were great. We knew their servings are huge so on our recent trip we ordered from the “Senior Citizen” menu since everyone is allowed to order from that menu – senior citizen or not. The servings were perfect for us – not too overwhelming, nor little.

The restaurant’s layout is kind of unique; it’s shaped like a letter “Y”. There are two dining rooms so it is quite huge and roomy. The interior design of the restaurant is one of the things I like. While waiting for our food I walked around and took some pictures of their displays & decors and there is also a tiny courtyard with a small water fountain made of scraps from car parts. The restrooms are also super clean.

Their menu is so varied and you can choose from Breakfast American style cooking to burgers or sandwiches, salads, appetizers, dinner menu, desserts and fresh baked pies and even Mexican specialties. They also have menu for children and senior citizens.

Major meals are undoubtedly good but one of their specialties that is worth trying is their apple pie or the apple dumplings! They’re so good and filled with huge chunks of apples. I also liked the way the crust is made – buttery and crusty.

Good Food, Good Service, Good Price Jun 15, 2009
Do you have a great family dining place in your town where almost every civil club meets for breakfast meetings, or lunch meetings? Well, in Tulare, this is the place. And there is a good reason for it, maybe two. First, the management is service oriented. And second, they have really good food. Besides those two great reasons to like this place they have a great decor. A little train is set high on the walls and it chugs its way around the restaurant as you dine. And the rest of the decor is fun and unique as well. The menu is pretty standard fair, but they seem to have a flare for making it special. And they do it without making it expensive. Stop in, I do highly recommend it.
