About 15 km North of Tel Aviv, you can find this National Park, a Crusader fortress from the 13th century. In 1265, it was the place of a 40 day siege by Mamluk Sultan Beybars after which it fell. They negotiated a surrender which terms allowed them to leave freely, but when the gates were opened, they were forced to destroy their own fortress.
We visited this park when we had a free day and it was decent. You can go through the park in two way, via the coastal cliff or on a more flat route. It leads to the excavated fort where you can view the coast and explore the ruins. There is some signs explaining the fortress and what it once looked like. There are also some cartoon looking crusaders, likely for children.
