Apollo Beach Vacation Guide
Apollo Beach is a town on the eastern shorts of Tampa Bay and is situated between the towns of Brandon and Ruskin off of Interstate 75. It is easily identifiable from many spots around Tampa Bay for the large power plant that sits just north of town. Although the housing is nice in the area, there is limited access to the beach here despite the town's namesake. One unique feature that tourists will find interesting, however, is related to the town's biggest eyesore, the power plant. As a result of the water cooling features of the plant, hot water is expelled into the Bay, creating an inviting environment with warm water for a range of sealife and birds, including stingrays, alligators, and manatees, which mingle freely below the viewing decks.
