New Years 2005-6 I treated myself to a stay here. It was brilliant - it is a push your boat out sort of occasion, but for a special night, not bad at all. Actually, the internet rate at the weekend was around £70 which is really good for the quality.
Location About a block from the tower of London, in the financial city, about half an hours walk to Trafalgar square, and about an hours happy wander back... So on the weekend, a lot of the restaurants nearby are shut because it's a business district but you can get into the middle easily. Room By British standards, huge. There is a fantastic bathroom with the taps midway up the bath, it's a gorgeous decoration scheme, and the larger rooms have sofas. ANd it's comfy. I loved it. The toiletries were lovely, and this is where I adopted my plastic duck, crispy fried. He has an advert for Apex on his tummy, so I assume they didn't mind him coming with me. Breakfast Very expensive - I'd skip that bit Staff. Put it this way - when I stumbled in, visibly drunk, propped up on a friend, and clutching a bunch of night club roses, and asked for a vase, they sent one up to my room with their compliments and a smile, straightfaced. Within a few minutes. ANd didn't even snigger when I answered the door in a towel, having forgotten all about it. |
