Given my general criteria for rating a place is whither I would stay there again isn't quite enough. Never mind stay there again I could live there :)
Ideal location, just one street back from the main square, and from the inner balcony you could see the top of the clock tower in the square and throw stones at it.
Slight confusion over the check in arrangements, and there is not someone on site. To be fair the owners had try to contact us, but we were already travelling by then. Woman in the shop next door contacted them for us and had spare keys to allow us to get in. If staying here probably a good idea to contact them in advance firstname.lastname@example.org
Doesn't look much from outside. The street is quiet and the main door looked like it could do with a lick of paint. There is secure gate at the bottom of the stairs, opened by a fob on the way up, and a button release on the wall for the way back out.
We were staying in No.6, on the second floor, and were impressed the second we walked in the door, it really was quite stunning and spacious.
The owner,a nice guy called Pawel, came by later to make sure we knew were everything was, like we hadn't already been through it all :D and to give us the 'Welcome Pack' and he gave us a little history of the place.
Had a large main room and kitchen. There was a sofa by the window, a dining table in the middle of the room, TV and wifi hub in the corner and along the right hand wall the kitchen. Kitchen had all you could need (cooker, fridge, microwave, kettle, crockery, cutlery pots and pans).
It was the decor though that struck you, including the bare brick wall. Pawel had explained that while renovating they had discovered many of the 19th centry features and decided to keep them, even little murals on the walls.
The bedroom was large enough to have a double bed, which gave a good night's rest, a wardrobe and dressing table, a sofa and chair with a little side table, and still enough room to have a game of football.
Bathroom again had plenty of room, and the shower was excellent. Had a heater rail, which having being backpaking for a week now we used as a clothes horse after getting some washing done.
With it being so close to the Rynek Glowny it's only a short walk to the restaurants and bars of the Old Town. Coming out of the apartment turning right and then left takes you to a path, after crossing the main road with the trams, that goes through the park to the castle.Out of the apartment and turn left and left again, up towards the square, there is a little supermarket.
Enjoyed our stay here, and one of the best accomodations I've stayed in for years. The fact that I can be so enthusiastic about anything should tell those on here that know me how much I thought of it :)
