Antique Apartments Krakow Reviews
An excellent place Jul 01, 2010
We were 9 friends that had decided to meet up in Krakow for a short visit and for the most of us it was the first time ever in the city and which also was the case or me.
My friends Olaf and Ewelina had arranged all the practical details of the trip and had booked us in to a hotel apartment complex called Antique Apartments situated at Plac Szczepański, which is quite close to the Town Square.
The hotel consists of loads of huge recently refurbished apartment in all sizes and amongst them some really huge ones with space for both 8 and 10 people. The rooms are decorated nicely and very clean, and extremely spacious.
We had taken a huge 10 person apartment and also one suited for 2 persons. The one for 2 persons were situated in the backyard on the fifth (!!) floor without any elevator. The stairs were fairly nice even given the fact that each floor was almost 4 meter. The room was very nice with a great bathroom and the room had also air condition which came in handy.
The apartment for 10 people was really huge – it was just above 200 square meters and all the rooms were huge. There were five rooms with each two beds and on top of that a large dining room with an open kitchen and a bar. The apartment had two bathrooms; one being small with a shower and a toilet and the other one much larger with a Jacuzzi.
The location was truly excellent and I must say that it was extremely good value for money, we were only in Krakow for a 24 hour city visit and it was the perfect. The hotel doesn’t offer breakfast, but they have a deal with the both the bars next door for a (surprisingly good) buffet breakfast for only 20zl per person. One of the bars; Scandal Royal is quite trendy and a great stop off for a nightcap before you head up to bed! My stop-over lasted almost 2 hours because they have an extreme drinks list.
The staffs were very friendly and helpful and we were also offered 3 bikes to borrow for free. They were all the time very positive.
The only small point of notice was that since they have converted living rooms/studies of the original apartments into sleeping rooms; the layout is sometimes strange. There were in some room doors in between sleeping rooms and one of them was only accessible through another one; but this was just a minor issue.
